CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES
Newborns and Infants (Stage One)
Marcia Antoine - Department LeaderThis is where it all begins! The Stage One Ministry seeks to serve the youngest members of the FCF Family with the love of God. We realize that the newborns and infants entrusted to our care may not yet be able to comprehend the Bible; yet, we believe that as we speak, and they hear God's Word, tiny seeds of faith are being planted in their hearts, setting the foundation for further spiritual growth. Caregivers in the stage one ministry share the love of God with these little ones through music, play and discovery, prayer, speaking God's Word, and lots of hugs!
We want to make your child's experience as pleasant and peaceful as possible, while you are enjoying worship service. Please be sure to bring a diaper bag equipped with the following items:
- Diapers
- Milk/juice if your child will need to be fed
- Carrier or portable car seat if your child is not yet able to sit
- A change of clothing
- Pacifier or other "comfort item," if necessary
13 months to 23 months - (Little Feet)
Marcia Antoine - Department LeaderThrough lively worship, biblically based videos, and short Bible lessons, our Little Feet ministry seeks to impart foundational principals and Christian virtues, such as patience, obedience, giving thanks, sharing, and forgiveness. Little Feet offers a warm and stimulating, yet structured and safe environment for your child to explore, interact with other children, and encounter God in their own way.
2 to 3 years - (Cubs for Christ)
Diane Harris - Department LeaderCubs for Christ teachers really know how to bring the Bible to life. Imaginative play, songs, videos, and arts and crafts are just a few of the many activities your little "cub" will experience in this ministry. Dynamic and interactive, Cubs for Christ workers present highly visual and hands-on lessons to lay the foundation for further learning about salvation, Christian character, and other basic principles that will help point them to Christ. Children will leave this ministry knowing that God loves them and will never leave them.
Pre-K4 and Kindergarten – Little Sprouts
Marcia Antoine - Department LeaderGames, puppet shows, story-telling, and dramatic presentations are just some of the things your child will enjoy in Little Sprouts. Ministry lessons focus on teaching children that Jesus is alive and real, even though they cannot see Him. Through bible stories; craft projects; lively, Christ-centered music; and prayer, children will learn that even as "Little Sprouts," they, too, can follow and obey God.
1st and 2nd Grades – (Big Kids)
David Sifford - Department LeaderIs that Queen Esther in the Big Kids class? Indeed it is! Dramatic re-enactments of the Bible are a hallmark of the Big Kids class and are used to draw children into a learning experience that is captivating and memorable. Although familiar Bible stories are still a part of this class, Big Kids encourages children to participate in the learning experience at a more in depth level. They will embark on a journey to cultivate Christian character by learning about the fruit of the Spirit and other biblical virtues. Memorizing short Bible verses and the books of the Bible is also a part of the curriculum.
3rd and 4th Grades - (Children of Purpose)
Kenny Spriggs - Department LeaderIn Children of Purpose, the overarching goal is to teach the word of God effectively so children will understand, live, and share the word of God daily with others. Children will begin to understand that God has a purpose for their lives, as they learn about salvation, prayer, the Holy Spirit, the fruit of the spirit, and biblical guidelines to living the Christian life. Children will be encouraged to memorize the books of the Bible and various scripture verses on a regular basis. They will also enjoy "Fun Sundays" (the last Sunday of each month), which include games, refreshments, and other fun activities all designed to strengthen their faith.
5th and 6th Grades – (Fire Starters)
Lisa Sifford - Department LeaderIn Fire Starters, your child will be led into a deeper understanding of the Word of God and the working of the Holy Spirit in their personal lives. Emphasis is placed on how each child can be used by God to minister to family, friends, and others. In addition, children are introduced to foundational kingdom principals, such as living by faith, and are encouraged to strengthen their walk with God through purposeful and consistent prayer, reading the Word for themselves, and obedience to the prompting of the Holy Spirit. Teaching methods include games, skits and role plays, topical discussion, and memory verses. Fire Starters continue the "Fun Sunday" tradition on the last Sunday of each month.
7th and 8th Grades - (Maximum Fire)
Tonya Evans - Department LeaderMaximum Fire focuses on spiritually preparing emerging teens for the challenges they will face as they navigate today's culture. This ministry combines sound wisdom and Biblical teaching with contemporary worship and fresh perspectives on the Word of God to create an experience that captivates, instructs, uplifts, and brings the relevance of God's Word to today's youth. Maximum Fire youth will engage in games, fun activities, and age appropriate discussions aimed at bringing Biblical truth into popular culture, as teachers lead them to discover how God's Word is alive, vibrant, and still relevant today. Students are encouraged to grow in their faith and challenged to demonstrate Godly qualities in their daily lives.
